I Like to Be Mentally Prepared

Isaac is going through this stage now where he has to take off his socks, it's a miracle if he keeps his socks on for more than 5 minutes. I fear we might have a potential child stripper on our hands, you know, the kid that can't stand wearing clothes and leaves trails of his clothing all around. The other day I put him down for his afternoon nap, which he did not take (he's transitioning into one nap a day so sometimes he takes it and sometimes not). So I go to pick up my crying boy, and after carrying him awhile, I realize his left arm is completely out of his sleeve, which means he must have pulled it out himself.

So then I start imagining him being a little older, running around bare naked in our backyard with the dirty farm dog, with me running after him. Then I start thinking of potential punishments to give him, for something he hasn't even done yet. Am I the only mom that does this? Probably, but I like to mentally prepare myself for things.

Having a boy is just so different from girls, I mean, Lucy was really good. Terrible twos...never had them. In fact, two was my favorite stage for her, she was so cute and fun. But Isaac is just so different, and so naughty, I definitely have my hands full with this one.

So now I am in the process of teaching my girl how to use my camera, because if Isaac does run around naked in my backyard, I want footage but I'll be too busy running after that bare bum to capture it. I mentally figured out that the best punishment would be to show those pictures to his future friends and potential girlfriend when he is older. And I mean much much older.

Thinking of my little boy with a girlfriend is making me sad. Okay, I'm going to go cry now.

  1. Sounds like a great plan! It's so funny how different children can be. I know I was an angel compared to my brothers. {ha ha At least that's what I'd like to think.} :-) Good luck!

  2. Haha!! I think it's a boy thing. My daughter was never the exhibitionist. But my son? Yea, loves being naked.

  3. Oh I hear ya!! As a Mom of 2 boys, I am in for a wild ride I think. My 3 y/o always takes off his clothes. For the life of me, I don't understand it. lol

  4. What ages are your daughter and son? I have a 3.5 year old daughter and an 18 month old son. And I SO feel ya! My Landon is so much more difficult and stubborn than my daughter. Keeps me on my toes for sure! :-)

  5. Isaac and Marcus sound so much alike! If my kid is in nothing but a diaper he is happy as a clam.
This whole transitioning to one nap a day thing is for the birds. This momma needs those two naps!
