Fitness: I want to go to the gym at least 3x a week and then work out at home 2-3x, because my husband's schedule is crazy and someone needs to be home to watch the little one. However, only made it to the gym once, not good, need to prioritize a little bit. Days can be crazy sometimes so I even did some Pilates at 10:30 the other night, if I have to work out late at night, then that's what I'm going to have to do.
Food: Need to work on portion control, did okay but not great, the evenings just kill me. Water intake was great, it was really warm for most of last week so I probably drank about 10-12 glasses of water most days, at least 8 glasses a day.
Failures and Slip-ups: Need to work on portion control and need to exercise, why do I keep making excuses!
Weekly Challenge Wisdom and Advice: If you only get a chance to work out late at night, then do at least 30 min. of something (I like Pilates, it's relatively quiet, no jumping around and waking my daughter or other people in my apartment building).
Self-portait: I've been hesitating posting before and after pictures because, well, they are not very flattering. I took some pics of myself at the beginning of this journey for myself but I thought maybe if I post these it would help some people get motivated to work out and eat healthy? I don't know, I might delete these later, so if there are no pics here then that's why. I still have more work to do, but these photos are really encouraging to me.
You have done am amazing job not only losing the weight but getting yourself so toned so fast. I tried going to classes and to yoga but with my husband's work schedule I almost never made it in the week and it seemed like too much time away from family to go at the weekend. So last year someone recommended Jillian Michaels to me - I was very skeptical about a DVD being a good workout but 30 day shred is excellent. I alternate Levels 1 and 2 of that with her 2 kettle weight workouts every day. I love that you only need some weights and 20 to 30 minutes at home to do it. I am now toned and fit again and my BP is lower than it was 20 years ago. So I'd recommend her for home workouts!
ReplyDeleteI actually rented No More Trouble Zones by Jillian Michaels from Netflix, don't do it every day but the workout is intense, best ab work out.
ReplyDeleteI'm so jealous! You have done so great! I was walking a mile every day for a while and I could tell a definite difference and I totally slacked off. You have motivated me to start again!!
ReplyDeleteWay to go - you look awesome! I do not know how it is possible to drink 10-12 glasses of water a day; this is where I am the most challenged...I would much rather drink juice (I know, terrible). I admire you for your courage to post the before/during/after photos! For the record, I've taken photos to track my progress too, but I don't think I would ever be able to post them on my blog. Kudos to you for your bravery!
