Road Trip

Went up to visit my parents for a few days this week, it was a nice and relaxing trip.  The drive up is always so beautiful.

My girl was not happy with me taking her picture.  "Take pictures of clouds Mommy!"  Silly girl, and very bossy too.

Windy Morning Walk

DSC_0194

This morning was a pretty productive morning.  My daughter and I walked to the library for storytime, then we went home and woke Daddy up and walked to the coffee shop to get our morning cup of joe.  Usually we're in our jammies till almost noon, I'm trying to work on that.  It was pretty windy out, and my Lucy doesn't like the wind blowing her hair in her face, in case you can't tell by her expression.  More photos soon.

Having Fun

DSC_1068re
Love her fun carefree expression in the shot.  It is getting really hot and humid outside, but I don't mind (yet). Yes, summer is definitely here!

Look at those soft curls, and sweet eyes, and chubby face...she's getting too big, stop it!

Some Photo Challenges

My husband and I were really boring for New Years.  We just stayed home, drank a whole bottle of champagne, watched TV, and waited for midnight to roll around.  I didn't really feel like going out anyways this year and having a kid is a great excuse to stay home.

The Simplicity Photography Challenge this week is "white on white".  I remembered that I bought this miniature china tea set at a garage sale last year for about 50 cents, and I knew it was perfect for the challenge.  This photo is Day 3 for the 365 and I didn't do too much for editing, just cropped, brightened and contrast, and added a touch of Picnik's winterize.  I really like the little bits of bokeh in the background that I was able to capture, it's pretty sweet.

Tuesday Photo Challenges

She would not cooperate with me and stand still so I could take her picture, so it's a little blurry.  And she kept making ridiculous faces at me, little stinker!

I think this might be one of my favorite shots from today.  I love the look of excitement on her face as she throws the snow, today was her first time playing in the snow too.  This shot would be perfect (to me) if only my stupid car wasn't in the background, oh well.

Tired Tuesday

I was just so exhausted yesterday.  When my kid went to bed, so did I.  Still pretty tired, but I'm having tomorrow off from work so hopefully I'll be able to catch up on some rest.  I have a lot of photo challenges to post, so here goes:

Paper Mama Photo Challenge: Me and Mama
I really wanted to take the picture myself but my girl just wouldn't be still, and I'm not very good at taking self portraits yet, there were a lot of pictures of the top of her head.  I'm working on it though.

Paper Heart Camera Show and Tell Photo Challenge:  Self-Portrait
I wanted to get a picture of me with my camera, and my camera auto focused on the edge of the mirror instead of on my reflection, but I kind of liked how it turned out, looks mysterious.

Photography love...
